Remnants Relived
This is a sensorial Exhibition (curated by Tan Pei Hwee) that was held by Grains Performance & Resource Lab about the works of the now-defunct Theatre OX (1995-2007) led by Artistic Director Ang Gey Pin.
The dates of the exhibition was held from Fri, 18 Jun 2021, 6:00 PM – Sun, 20 Jun 2021, 7:00 PM at The Arts House Singapore.
I was given the opportunity to be one of the exhibition assistants for this event. My main tasks were to help with the bump in before the actual event, mounting of the boards onto the walls, moving of equipment and setting up of the space. I was also in charge of the arrangements of the tables , boards and props for some of the stations.
During the actual event, I was tasked to be the front-of-house assistant. I helped with the registration of patrons that have done pre-registration on Eventbrite. As well as handing out post-survey forms to those who attended the exhibition to check on the reviews to see which aspects we will be able to improve on.
It was a really big learning experience for me as I myself get to learn more about the history of Theatre OX and see from all the physical collection of photographs and performance screenings as to how it was like for the performing arts industry in the past.
