Morning of The World:
Exploring new beginnings
It is a virtual concert presenting musicians from Singapore and Indonesia. We will explore the dynamics of sounds from western classical to Chinese classical and gamelan music with electronic sounds. The project will give opportunities for the artists to explore one another’s special areas of interests, capturing the stirrings of a fresh start – an awakening and a journey from and with tradition.
As Republic Polytechnic was the venue partner of Project Artitude, I was given the opportunity to work behind the scenes as one of the crew members helping with the set up of the lighting and controls. This also gave me the chance to use the different equipment on set.
Everything was still really new to me at this point of time as I have just started learning about the Arts and Theatre Industry recently, being able to see first-hand and experience how it was like having to switch to a virtual performance due to Covid-19 was fascinating as I found that there were so many different lighting considerations and camera work that is differently filmed from an actual live performance.
